DMX is rapping through his legal troubles.

Walking out of Manhattan Federal Court on Monday (July 17), the New York rapper celebrated his famed defense lawyer, Murray Richman, the reported “mob lawyer” who’s been nicknamed “Don’t Worry Murray.”

“We don’t worry with Murray,” rhymed X. “Get you out of jail in a hurry / When the government try to bury you / You’re good, early!”

DMX has been accused of not filing any tax returns from 2010 through 2015, during which he reportedly earned $2.3 million. On Friday (July 14), the Ruff Ryders MC pleaded not guilty to federal charges that he owes $1.7 million in income taxes. Simmons could face 44 years in federal prison if he is convicted on all 14 counts.

According to the New York Daily News, DMX says Murray — who’s also represented the likes of JAY-Z and Ja Rule — is “like a father” to him. Asked what that’s like, Murray reportedly joked that “it’s a bitch.”

Last week, following his arrest, X spent an evening in Manhattan Correctional Center, where the famed drug lord Joaquin “El Chapo” Guzman is also being held. “I was right next to him,” said DMX. “Yeah, we was talking — I’m just kidding. He’s over there, oh shit, I could have talked to him!”
