Hot off the release of his A$AP Rocky-assisted single “Who Dat Boy,” Tyler, the Creator links up with longtime Odd Future affiliate Frank Ocean on “911 / Mr. Lonely.”

The track, which was previewed at the end of his “Who Dat Boy” video, pulls inspiration from ’90s R&B and hip-hop. Plus, it finds Tyler reflecting on rap’s royal couple, the Carters.

“Sippin’ on that lemon-ade, I need a Beyon-cé,” he raps. “Can’t see straight, these shades are Céline, Dion / Sucks you can’t gas me up, shout out to Elon / Musk, yeah I got a sold-out show / Crowd wild out but don’t matter ’cause you not front row.”

Frank lends his vocals, too. “Chirp, chirp,” he sings. “Woke up in the burbs, burbs / With the the birds, birds / Where you used to come and get me with the swerve, swerve.”

“911 / Mr. Lonely” also features additional vocals from Steve Lacy, Anna of the North, and ScHoolboy Q.

Along with “Who Dat Boy,” the release feels like a precursor to a new album. If so, it will be Tyler’s first full-length LP since 2015’s Cherry Bomb.

Outside of music, Tyler has two television shows — “Nuts + Bolts” on VICELAND and The Jellies on Adult Swim — coming soon. Up next, he’s also performing at Agenda in Long Beach (July 15), Panorama in New York (July 28), Detroit Mo Pop Festival (July 30), and he’s hosting his sixth annual Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in Los Angeles (Oct. 28-29).
