Nicki Minaj fans are Grateful for DJ Khaled, whose new album features two songs from the rap queen.
It’s a tale of two Nickis on the star-studded effort. One is inspirational, while the other is boastful, but both are quintessential Minaj.
The first of those tracks is “Nobody,” which features Alicia Keys and samples “Nobody Knows” by Pastor T.L. Barrett and the Youth for Christ Choir. While the piano-playing superstar sings about thanking God and blinding her haters with patience, Nicki comes through with some of her patented punchlines.
“I got something inside of me that can’t be quenched,” she raps. “I’m addicted to winning and I can’t be benched / Go to war for every black queen that they lynched / And my pockets on chubby but they can’t be pinched.”
This is the second time Nicki and Alicia have worked together, following “Girl on Fire.”
Nicki’s second appearance on the album arrives on “I Can’t Even Lie,” which pairs her up with a raunchy Future. “My sex drive leave her woozy,” he brags. “Got my B-A-B-Y in the two-seat / I ain’t even got no time to talk / It’s all up to you, baby / Diamonds dancing on my rubies / Savage mode is on ruthless.”
Meanwhile, Nicki issues a warning to other ladies. “Keep your man off my Instagram, bitch,” she raps. “99 problems but ain’t one a damn bitch / G4 fly even when I land, bitch / Lookin’ like Pocahontas, yeah, they want my land, bitch / I’m just exotic, bitch, chronic, bitch / Shoe game on psychotic, bitch / Yes, I am iconic, bitch / Pussy get ’em hooked like phonics, sis.”
In the past, HNDRXX and Nicki have collaborated on songs like “Do You Mind,” “Tapout,” and “I Wanna Be With You.”
Aside from Nicki, Alicia, and Future, Grateful also features Beyoncé, JAY-Z, Rihanna, Nas, Chance the Rapper, Travis Scott, Rick Ross, Big Sean, Calvin Harris, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and T.I., among others.
