New Music: Majid Jordan - 'Gave Your Love Away'
Drake wasn’t the only OVO star to team up with Louis Vuitton. In fact, before Drizzy’s “Signs” premiered at LV’s Spring/Summer 2018 show, it was Majid Jordan’s “Gave Your Love Away” that kicked off the event.
The smooth R&B track is an infectious new bop, which made it fitting for the runway. Meanwhile, its lyrics reflect on a romance from the past.
“I’m in the courtyard of your mansion in Westlake,” sings Majid Al Maskati. “Feelin’ a way about today, with a Grey / To get on, movin’ along, checkin’ my phone / Thought I heard you call, but I was wrong / Why’s it been so long?”
It’s been more than a year since Majid Jordan released their self-titled debut album. More recently, the duo teamed up to release “Phases” and “One I Want” with PARTYNEXTDOOR. They are also reportedly working on their sophomore LP, which is expected at some point this year.
