In honor of “Trap Lord Tuesday,” A$AP Ferg unleashes two new bangers. The first of those is “Nia Long,” produced by HighDefRazjah.
Over hard-hitting drums, the Trap Lord raps about a pretty woman who reminds him of his muse, the Friday actress that the track was named after.
“LiveLoveA$AP on,” he rhymes. “‘Kissing Pink’ be her song / She pop that ass to the third song / Pop that ass through her thong / Pretty bitch like Nia Long / She swing along on my ding-a-long.”
The second of those tracks is “Aw Yea,” Ferg’s collaboration with Lil Yachty. “Diamonds shining everywhere, aw yeah,” Ferg raps over the Maaly Raw production. “Big ol’ booty in the air, aw yea / Diamonds in my Cartier, aw yea / Ferg and Yachty in the Lear, aw yea.”
Lil Boat blends singing with rapping on his melody-filled verse. “Living out my dreams,” he raps. “I live movie scenes / Nothing’s what it seems.” Later, he adds: “I’m a young ni**a, 19, I could be your mama’s son / Fuck your mama, son / Call up gang and that’s when the drama comes.”
“Nia Long” and “Aw Yea” follow A$AP Ferg’s appearances on Lost Kings’ Ally Brooke-assisted “Look at Us Now” and A$AP Mob’s “Wrong,” which also features A$AP Rocky.
Aside from paying tribute to Long, Ferg is also calling out Fleur Fortune, the director behind Travis Scott’s Birds in the Trap short film, for copying his “aesthetic.”
“Who ever did this video was inspired by me,” tweeted Ferg. “I only can tell it how I see it . It’s alright to be inspired. I ain’t putting nobody down I’m just calling it how I see it. Look at ‘work’ and ‘Persian wine’ it’s trap lord aesthetic . I ain’t saying Travis did it but his directors def was alil inspired . Minus the robot head thing that ain’t trap lord aesthetic.”
Ferg went on to clarify that he wasn’t exactly hating on the director. “I can never hate on another man that’s doing his thing,” he wrote. “I just notice something so I’m speaking on it. If anything I’m flattered.”
UPDATE: It’s been a busy Trap Lord Tuesday. After dropping “Nia Long” and the Lil Yachty-assisted “Aw Yea,” A$AP Ferg unleashes another banger, “Furious Ferg.”
Over booming production by Tommyy Lovee, Ferg rhymes about his kingdom. “I’m the king of Harlem,” he boasts. “I’m the king of New York, my throne is in the Garden.”
