Frank Ocean Cancels Primavera Performance

  /  05.28.2017

After nixing his appearance at two other festivals this month, Frank Ocean has canceled his forthcoming June 2 performance at Primavera Sound in Barcelona, Spain.

The festival announced the cancelation in a statement: “We regret to announce that Frank Ocean’s concert programmed on Friday 2nd June in the Parc del Fòrum as part of Primavera Sound festival has been canceled due to production delays beyond his control.”

“The artist has apologised and has reiterated his wish to come to Barcelona soon,” it continues. “We are sorry for any inconvenience caused by this situation and we appreciate your understanding. Soon we will inform you about the possible changes to the schedule in light of the above.”

Primavera isn’t Ocean’s only cancelation. Earlier this month, he bailed on the Sasquatch! appearance in George, Washington “due to production issues beyond his control,” as well. Just days after, he canceled his headlining set at Hangout Fest in Alabama for the same reason.

But the R&B croooner is currently still slated to perform at a series of festivals across the globe, including Parklife in Manchester, Lovebox in England, WayHome in Ontario, FYF Fest in Los Angeles, and Panorama in New York. It’s unclear whether any of them will be impacted by the production delays.

Meanwhile, Ocean has been releasing a steady stream of new music this year. So far, he’s teamed up with A$AP Rocky, Playboi Carti, Quavo, and Lil Uzi Vert on “RAF,” Young Thug on “Slide on Me,” Travis Scott on “Lens V2,” and Jay Z and Tyler, the Creator on “Biking.”
