Young Tiller is back.
Bryson Tiller surprises his fans by releasing his sophomore album True to Self a whole month early. Originally set to drop June 23, the 19-track set was quietly released on Thursday evening. Led by the single “Somethin Tells Me,” the follow-up to 2015’s Trapsoul finds Tiller flexing his vocal chops and MC skills on tracks like “Blowing Smoke,” “Self-Made,” and the Travis Scott-approved “Don’t Get Too High.”
“When you are being true to yourself, you are completely honest with what you feel, deeply value, and desire,” he said. “It also means communicating your feelings wholeheartedly both with yourself and others, allowing your truth to flow through you and into the world.”
In addition to releasing the album, Pen Griffey also debuted a video for the lead single “Somethin Tells Me,” in which he plays a photographer who shoots gorgeous models.
True to Self marks Tiller’s first album since his 2015 debut Trapsoul, which was certified platinum and spawned the Grammy-nominated single “Exchange.”
