Dave East is back with another “East Mix.”
After flipping tracks by Drake and Future, the Mass Appeal MC takes on French Montana’s Swae Lee-assisted “Unforgettable” and turns it into a Halle Berry tribute.
“Somebody tell Halle Berry that I’m looking for her,” he raps. “I ain’t a chef, but I’ll be in the crib, cooking for her / I don’t get how other dudes wouldn’t want her / Compare me to Billy Bob, how I’ll put it on her.”
Halle, who graces the song’s artwork, has inspired many other tracks in the past, including Yo Gotti’s “Halle Berry,” Hurricane Chris’ “Halle Berry (She’s Fine),” and Kendrick Lamar’s “Money Trees,” with its popular “Halle Berry or hallelujah” refrain.
“Unforgettable” — which appears on Rap-Up’s new “Fresh Flavors” playlist — is an early contender for song of the summer. The dance-ready track is currently No. 42 on the Hot 100.
In the past month, Dave also dropped East Mixes for Future’s “Mask Off” and Drake’s “Free Smoke.” Plus, he’s released collaborations with Tory Lanez (“Out of Center”) and A$AP Ferg (“Paper Chasin'”), all while gearing up for his forthcoming Paranoia project.
