More than two months after requesting a restraining order against Chris Brown, Karrueche Tran was finally able to serve him with legal documents on his birthday, Friday (May 5).
A process server gave Brown the docs while he was exiting Grooves, a Houston nightclub. Footage of the exchange was captured and confirmed by TMZ.
Tran filed for a restraining order after she says the R&B crooner threatened to kill and shoot her. She has also alleged violence in the past, declaring that he punched her and pushed her down a flight of stairs.
According to the report, these incidents would have occurred while Brown was on probation for physically assaulting Rihanna in 2009. Due to run-ins with the law, Brown remained on probation in that case until 2015.
Prior to this, Brown avoided being served by Tran several times. Last month, Brown’s lawyer claimed Tran was using this restraining order as a source for self-promotion and said he wouldn’t accept the legal docs on his behalf because he didn’t want to “help anybody increase their profile.”
Brown is currently on “The Party Tour” with Fabolous, Kap G, and O.T. Genasis. The jaunt is set to run through May 23 in Inglewood, Calif. He has also announced his 40-track double album Heartbreak on a Full Moon, which is expected to drop this year.
