Just days after Lil Wayne said his long-delayed Carter V album will be out “soon,” controversial pharma mogul Martin Shkreli has leaked two snippets, reportedly from the double album.
The first of those is tentatively titled “Mona Lisa” and is said to feature Kendrick Lamar. Shkreli clicked around the track, only sharing seconds at a time, but it does showcase traces of what could be a collaboration between Tunechi and K-Dot. “That’s the best song of the damn thing, man,” said Shkreli.
Beyond “Mona Lisa,” the often-criticized mogul also shared a song that’s reportedly titled “The Life of Carter.” This one is also hard to make out due to distortions and clicks.
In December of 2016, Shkreli claimed he purchased Tha Carter V as a double album for an undisclosed sum from an unidentified source. At the time, he also played a song from the project, which reportedly infuriated Lil Wayne’s camp.
Prior to that, Shkreli purchased Wu-Tang Clan’s one-of-one album Once Upon a Time in Shaolin for a reported $2 million.
Shkreli is most known for his controversial decision to raise the price of Daraprim, a drug used by AIDS patients, from $13.50 to $750 per pill. He has also beefed with rapper Ghostface Killa, who referred to him as a “fake ass super villain” with a “12-year-old body.”
