Janet Jackson Announces 'State of the World Tour'

  /  05.02.2017

Ms. Jackson is back.

After giving birth to her son Eissa and filing for divorce from her husband Wissam Al Mana last month, Janet Jackson has announced the “State of the World Tour.”

Making up for the postponed “Unbreakable Tour” — which was put on hold so she could have her baby — the “State of the World Tour” is set to hit 56 cities this year, starting Sept. 7 in Lafayette, La.

In a video shared with fans on social media, Janet confirmed her split from Al Mana and announced her return to the road. “I’m continuing my tour, as I promised,” she said. “I’m so excited, you guys. I decided to change the name of the tour, ‘State of the World Tour.’ It’s not about politics. It’s about people, the world, relationships, and love.”

The highly-anticipated run is set to hit several cities, including Houston, Los Angeles, Chicago, Brooklyn, and Nashville, before coming to an end in Atlanta on Dec. 17.

And new music could also be on the way. According to a press release, the jaunt is set to feature past hits along with “soon-to-be-released new tracks.” Jackson’s last album was 2015’s Unbreakable.

Tickets for “State of the World Tour” go on sale May 5.
