Tory Lanez is finding himself on the wrong side of the law this morning. The Toronto rapper/singer was pulled over by the Miramar Police Department in South Florida overnight because the 2014 Rolls-Royce he was driving had expired tags, according to WPLG Local 10 News.
Law enforcement officials said they were then tipped off by the smell of marijuana. They went on to find less than 20 grams of pot in the glove compartment. However, they also discovered that Lanez did not have a valid drivers’ license and they uncovered a loaded gun in the center console.
The “Anyway” singer was charged with illegally carrying a concealed weapon, a felony. He was also charged with possession of cannabis, driving without a valid license, failure to register his vehicle, and failure to provide proof of insurance, according to VIBE. He was released from jail after posting $1,000 bond.
In January, Lanez dropped two mixtapes, Chixtape 4 and The New Toronto 2. They followed his 2016 debut album, I Told You.
This weekend, he is scheduled to play Coachella before joining Future on his “Nobody Safe Tour,” which kicks off May 4 in Memphis.
