Kid Ink and Ty Dolla $ign are “So Into” their girls on the duo’s new Tamia-inspired collaboration, “F With U.”
Over a Caribbean instrumental from DJ Mustard and J Holt, Ink and Dolla give Tamia’s 1988 single “So Into You” a 2017 twist. “I really like what you’ve done to me,” sings the Taylor Gang crooner. “I can’t really explain it / I still fuck with you.”
Then the Batgang boss rolls through with references to Juvenile’s “Nolia Clap.” “The way you make that clap, Nolia, Nolia,” he raps. “See your curves and you’re stacked in your frame, girl / Dip, swerve, then I’m back in your lane, girl / Keep that ass up all night, restless / I just finger roll and finessed it.”
“So Into You” has inspired other songs, as well, including Fabolous’ “Into You,” which featured Tamia, and Remy Ma’s “Black Love,” which featured Papoose. In 2015, Childish Gambino also covered the single for an Australian radio station.
Last year, Kid Ink dropped his mixtape Rocketshipshawty2. Now he’s readying his 7 Series EP, which is set for a May 5 release.
