Run it up! A$AP Ferg and Remy Ma rep the “East Coast” on their new collaboration, described by the Trap Lord as “ground zero music.”

Packing his verse with his trademark echoed ad-libs, Fergenstein kicks things off with force. “This the children of the sewer finally winning music,” he raps. “This confessions of a Lord, I’ve been sinning music / The rap book is my Bible, just repent through it.”

Still sounding like she has a bone to pick with Nicki Minaj, Remy Ma pops up with a playful laugh and ferocious fury. She references her fallen friend Big Pun’s alliteration on “Twinz (Deep Cover 98)” and makes a nod to Joe Budden’s “Pump It Up” while sending thinly-veiled jabs at her “shETHER” target.

“I spazz on ’em, I gun ’em up,” she raps. “I’m too smart, gotta dumb ’em up / Dead in the middle of Little Italy, they ain’t know Remy really could just Pun it up / On IG, you thumb it up / But in real life you bum it up / You ain’t own nothing, you so frontin’ / You Joe Budden, you pump it up.”

But the verse could also be a subliminal shot at Foxy Brown, who dissed her on “Break’s Over.” “The bar’s low, I brung it up,” Remy adds. “And y’all hoes just stunk it up / I been won, you been done / You been should’ve just hung it up / You was hatin’ when I was comin’ up / You fake bitch, you need to woman up / You a wack bitch, you a rat bitch / And I’m that bitch, just to sum it up.”

“East Coast” is a single off Ferg’s “big, big, big” project Still Striving, which he’s currently working on in Liberia. The album is a follow-up to last year’s critically-acclaimed Always Striving.
