Following their hit collaborations with Halsey and Coldplay, The Chainsmokers team up with Jhené Aiko on the hypnotic “Wake Up Alone.”
Over a pulsating beat, Jhené reflects on her rise to stardom. “Now I got cars, now I got clothes, now I got money,” she sings. “Now I got crowds singing my name, saying they love me.”
But in the midst of her lavish life, the TWENTY88 songstress ponders an important question about the future. “Will you still care in the morning, when the magic’s gone?” she asks. “Will you be there in the morning, will you stay when it all goes, or will I wake up alone?”
“Wake Up Alone” can be found on the DJ duo’s debut album Memories…Do Not Open, which is out now featuring the chart-topping smash “Closer,” plus appearances from Florida Georgia Line, Emily Warren, and Louane.
Meanwhile, Jhené is working on a second TWENTY88 project with Big Sean as well as the follow-up to 2014’s Souled Out.
