Chris Brown Kicks Off 'The Party Tour' in Baltimore

  /  04.01.2017

Chris Brown got “The Party” started on Friday (March 31) when he kicked off his U.S. tour in Baltimore.

Following special guests Fabolous, O.T. Genasis, and Kap G, Breezy ran through his discography with an electrifying first show at Royal Farms Arena.

The long-awaited concert opened with a jumbotron countdown followed by DJ Khaled’s booming voice. “They don’t want us to win,” he said over the arena sound system. “So we gon’ win more. They don’t want us to party, so Chris Brown’s bringing you ‘The Party Tour.’ When I say ‘Chris,’ you say ‘Brown!’ When I say ‘Team,’ you say ‘Breezy!’ I introduce you to the legendary, iconic, my friend, my brother, Chris Brown.”

Breezy knows how to make an entrance. Emerging from the ceiling, floating in the air, flipping backwards, and singing upside down, Brown jumped into a performance of “Wrist.” While suspended in the air, he donned a pinstriped suit jacket and matching shorts, giving off some ACDC vibes with a CB twist.

From there, Brown kept things rolling, gyrating on the floor to smashes like “Take You Down,” where he was joined by a female guitar player. He took his shirt off for jams like “Time for Love” and “Back to Sleep.” He performed below green lights for “Grass Ain’t Greener.” He even smoothed things out for his latest baby-making jam, “Privacy.”

Although 50 Cent backed out due to failed contract negotiations, Fabolous was present. Loso popped up during Brown’s set for a joint performance of their collaboration, “She Wildin’.”

Brown’s trademark acrobatic moves continued throughout the show. A trapeze artist even joined Breezy for some Cirque du Soleil action during a performance of “Drunk Texting” (sans Jhené Aiko). Both alone and with his Black Pyramid-donning back-up dancers, Brown lit up the stage for dance-ready smashes like “Kriss Kross” and the closer, “Party.”
