Nicki Minaj is adding to her ever-expanding career with a new role as a professional model, signing a deal with Wilhelmina Models celebrity division.
The news comes after Minaj turned heads at Paris Fashion Week. It also follows a long line of fashion-forward moves by the rapper.
“I love the synergy between my music and how it inspires my fashion,” Minaj told Vogue. “My message is always celebrating your own style. I’m thrilled and honored to have signed with Wilhelmina—they get me.”
Minaj has had a longstanding relationship with the fashion world. In 2011, she was a guest judge on “America’s Next Top Model” and was photographed by Inez van Lamsweerde.
In 2015, she fronted Roberto Cavalli’s Spring/Summer ad campaign and even inspired some of Giuseppe Zanotti’s sneakers.
Throughout the years, she’s also had a great relationship with designers like Jeremy Scott,Marc Jacobs, and Alexander Wang.
Most recently, she showed off her modeling skills in London on the set of “No Frauds” and in the music video for Gucci Mane’s “Make Love.”
When she’s not taking over the fashion world, Minaj recently released her #3PackFromParis and is working on the follow-up to 2014’s The Pinkprint.
