New Music: T.I. - 'Do My Thing'

  /  03.25.2017

The King of the South gets back to the trap with “Do My Thing,” a new track released by DJ Whoo Kid and DJ MLK.

Produced by Jazzfeezy and Steve Samson, the gritty street slapper finds TIP making menacing threats. “You violated,” he raps. “Now your whole apartment complex, we annihilated / Everybody pay the price / That’s the consequences when you take a life.”

Later, he adds: “I’ma do my thing / I give a damn what a ni**a say.”

It was Whoo Kid and MLK who pushed T.I. to unleash the banger. “We were tired of waiting on getting new music from TIP, so we basically forced his hand into releasing some street shit,” the DJs told Billboard. “You know Tip tried holding onto this [‘Do My Thing’], but then he was like fuck it, let’s get it out.”

Up next, TIP and his family are returning for the final season of “The Family Hustle” and he’s heading out on the “Hustle Gang Tour,” starting April 26 in Mobile, Ala. The trek supports last year’s politically-charged release, Us or Else: Letter to the System.
