Mike WiLL Made-It pours the “Perfect Pint” with Kendrick Lamar, Gucci Mane, and Rae Sremmurd on their highly-anticipated collaboration off Ransom 2.
With Swae Lee handling a syrupy hook, Slim Jxmmi tackles the first verse, reflecting on his drug use and its effects.
“This money doing something to my ego,” he raps. “This drank got me talking like Z-Ro / These pills got me feeling like Neo / And this freak in my ear trying to go.”
Drop Top Wop pops up with the second verse, reminding fans of his newfound sobriety. “Thirty cars deep, it’s like a circus with me / Rae Sremmurd, Gucci Mane, it sounds perfect to me / Now I’m back on top like I’m ‘posed to be / But I done poured so many pints that shit got old to me.”
King Kendrick aka Kung Fu Kenny pays homage to the late Shawty Lo and addresses gang banging’s deadly nature. “2017 onto bigger things,” he raps. “I got a smaller team, got a bigger ring / Everybody a Crip ’til they black and blue / Everybody a Blood ’til they hemorrhaging.”
Swae Lee finishes things off with an outro that ties it all together. “Holding onto memories,” he sings. “Toss and turning all night / Leaving would be wise, but you know where my heart lies / I be rollin’ every time that I arrive.”
Earlier this year, Rae Sremmurd premiered at least part of the song during a concert. Now, it follows a steady stream of Mike WiLL’s Ransom 2 collaborations with Pharrell (“Aries (YuGo)”), Future (“Razzle Dazzle”), Chief Keef (“Come Down”), Lil Yachty (“Hasselhoff”), Big Sean (“On the Come Up”), Rihanna (“Nothing is Promised”), and 21 Savage, YG, and Migos (“Gucci On My”).
Ransom 2 drops at midnight.
