After unleashing his Birds in the Trap short film, Travis Scott reveals what fans can expect from his forthcoming album AstroWorld.

Posing in Gucci for the Spring/Summer 2017 issue of British GQ Style, shot by Terry Richardson, La Flame explained how a now-defunct Houston theme park inspired the LP.

“The next record is called AstroWorld,” he said. “It might be the best music that I made. I have two records on the album that are like, man, they are the best. They tore down ‘AstroWorld’ to build more apartment space [in 2005].

“That’s what it’s going to sound like,” he added, “Like taking an amusement park away from kids. We want it back. We want the building back. That’s why I’m doing it. It took the fun out of the city.”

The announcement arrives shortly after the Houston rapper launched his own label, Cactus Jack Records. It also lands in the midst of his “Birds Eye View Tour,” which is slated to run through July 9.

During his interview with British GQ Style, Scott also addressed the recent dive he took during Drake’s concert in London.

”I didn’t fall, dude, I flew,” he explained. “I was floating. I don’t fall. Shit, nothing happened. Floating is amazing. It’s like getting in a plane. I just flew, man. I’m a magician, like David Blaine. I could never fall. Drake is an amazing person. Also, a magician. He’s a big brother, super-talent, he’s cool.”

Expected this year, AstroWorld will be Scott’s third album overall and the follow-up to 2016’s Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight.
