A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie makes a splash on his new single “Drowning (Water)” featuring Kodak Black.
Over a piano-laden instrumental, A Boogie brags about his lean, his weapons, and his future. “I’m gon’ win a Grammy and move my family out the projects,” he sing-raps. “We went from chillin’ in the projects to making projects / We was trying to get to the stop, and they tried to stop us.”
Kodak, who was arrested last month for a probation violation, compares himself to legends from the C.P.T. and Bel-Air. “Ni**a with attitude,” he raps. “But I ain’t from Compton / Lil Kodak, bitch, I’m Polo’d down like Carlton.”
A Boogie is coming off the second leg of his 10-city “TBA Tour,” in support of his TBA EP, which dropped in October. His hit “My Shit” was recently certified gold by the RIAA.
Next, A Boogie is readying his Artoven mixtape with producer Zaytoven. “I’ve got a couple features right now,” he told Rap-Up. “Young Scooter. I got one with [Lil] Bibby coming out. I’ve got a video with Bibby coming out, it’s called ‘Proud of Me Now.'”
