Nicki Minaj Ties Aretha Franklin for Most Hot 100 Entries Among Women

  /  03.08.2017

Nicki Minaj continues to dominate the Billboard Hot 100, as she ties Aretha Franklin for the most total appearances among women on the chart.

The Queen of the Barbz matched this milestone with Gucci Mane’s “Make Love,” which debuted at No. 78 on the chart, bringing her total to 73 career entries on the Hot 100.

Nicki celebrated the news with photos of Franklin and herself on Instagram. “#MakeLove w/Gucci Mane debuts on Billboard’s Hot 100 this week, causing me to tie Aretha’s record for The Most Hot 100 entries of ALL WOMEN IN THE WORLD,” she wrote. “Thanks to you guys for your support (as always). Loveeeeeeee u…#InternationalWomensDay.”

Nicki isn’t the only current singer near the top. Taylor Swift is right behind her with 70 and Rihanna and Madonna follow with 58 and 57, respectively.

Minaj’s co-starring skills helped her achieve this prestigious feat. She’s been credited as the lead artist on 29 of the 73 tracks and a featured act on 44. Meanwhile, Franklin was the lead on all 73 of her Hot 100 entries.

Despite being a fixture on the chart, Nicki has yet to earn a No. 1 single as a lead artist. Her highest-charting track to date has been “Anaconda,” which peaked at No. 2. For her part, Franklin topped the chart with “I Knew You Were Waiting (For Me)” and “Respect.”

Minaj has a way to go to match the most Hot 100 entries among all acts. Fox’s cast of “Glee” has the lead with 207 titles and Nicki’s Young Money brothers Lil Wayne and Drake follow with 133 and 132, respectively. Minaj and Franklin are tied for 10th place on the all-time list.
