There will be no three-peat. Despite reports to the contrary, Future will not be releasing a third album in three straight weeks, according to his manager, Anthony Saleh.
Via Twitter, Saleh refuted a report from “The Ellen Show,” stating that Hendrix was “attempting to have three No. 1 albums in a row in three weeks.” Retweeting a story from The FADER, Saleh added: “FALSE.”
Currently, Future is celebrating the top spot on the Billboard 200 with his self-titled album, which dropped Feb. 17, and moved 140,000 equivalent album units in its first week out.
Up next, HNDRXX — released Feb. 24 — is expected to land him atop the coveted chart once again, making him the first artist with back-to-back No. 1 debuts in consecutive weeks.
While he may not be going for the hat trick, Future will be going on “Ellen.” The Freebandz boss is expected to appear on the show Thursday (March 2) for a performance from a song off HNDRXX.
