Rick Ross called on another boss, Chris Rock, to announce the release date for his Epic Records debut, Rather You Than Me.
The comedian made the big reveal in a short video posted on social media, confirming that his follow-up to 2015’s Black Market is set to arrive March 17.
“What’s up to my man, Ricky Ross, Ricky Rozay, the greatest rapper alive,” said Rock. “He’s got a new album coming out called Rather You Than Me. It drops March 17.”

Rock’s involvement may be surprising given Renzel’s criticism of him in the past. “Chris Rock, he a cornball,” he told Washington, D.C.’s 93.9 in March of last year. “Let’s keep it real…Chris Rock a cornball. And I’ma leave it right there. [His Oscars monologue] wasn’t funny. He ain’t the one. I’m not a fan of his.”
In 2014, Ross also responded to a Rock joke from the 2014 BET Awards. “Dre has Beats,” the comic reportedly said. “Rick Ross has Dia-BEATS.” Rozay’s response: “Chris Rock washed up haaaa.”
Nevertheless, the release date announcement follows the album’s first single, “I Think She Like Me,” which features Ty Dolla $ign.
Before that, Renzel also dropped “Buy Back the Block” with 2 Chainz and Gucci Mane. More recently, he unleashed the Drake-inspired “Summer 17.” It’s currently unclear whether either song will appear on the LP.
Rather You Than Me is Rozay’s ninth album overall, but his first on Epic Records. In 2015, he dropped his final Def Jam album, Black Market.
