Just one day after Super Bowl Sunday, Wale and Lil Wayne go for a touchdown in the video for “Running Back,” their football-inspired collaboration off Folarin’s upcoming album, Shine.

The video kicks off with a contemplative Wale, before Weezy plays the role of Tom Brady to his James White, handing off an imaginary football in front of a neon-colored backdrop.

From there, backed by a dazzling array of colorful projections, the MMG rapper relates women and haters to football, bragging about his money in the process. A smiling Weezy joins in the fun, shaking his dreads, dancing, and holding Styrofoam cups, while dissing enhanced booties. Models join Tunechi and Folarin throughout the clip, bringing cigars and alcohol to the set.

Aside from having fun with Wayne, Wale also finds a moment to pay tribute to former USC Trojans running back Joe McKnight, who was shot and killed following a reported road rage dispute last year. The man who shot him, 55-year-old Ronald Gasser, was charged with second-degree murder last week in a case that drew national attention due to an ongoing conversation about race, discrimination, and the justice system. In the “Running Back” video, Folarin sports McKnight’s No. 4 Trojans jersey and on Twitter, he offered prayer hands.
