“Living Single” gets a reboot thanks to Big Sean, Chance the Rapper, and Jeremih.
Inspired by the ’90s sitcom starring Queen Latifah, the trio unleashes the final version of the leaked July track, featuring the same material with a more polished sound.
And while Sean Don might be dating Jhené Aiko, this cut focuses on his inability to settle down. “I know what it feel like to think you found the one,” he raps. “Told mom that so many times, I’m sounding dumb.”
Unlike the leaked version of “Living Single,” the final edit only features Jeremih and Chance, leaving Smino out.
When the unauthorized version first dropped, Sean expressed his disappointment. “Damn ‘Living Single’ was actually something I was workin on for my album,” he tweeted. “sucks when people leak something not ready n spoil 4 da listeners.”
On Friday (Dec. 17), however, Sean unleashed the official version as a thank you to his fans for making “Bounce Back” a Top 40 smash. It came in at No. 39 on the Hot 100, marking his seventh highest-charting track to date.
Sean’s follow-up to last year’s Dark Sky Paradise has no release date, but “Bounce Back,” “No More Interviews,” and “Living Single” are slated to be on the project.
