Ab-Soul goes to war.
Delivering the music video for “RAW (backwards),” Soulo provides a dark visual to accompany his scathing Do What Thou Wilt opener.
Directed by Aplus Filmz, the brooding clip opens at a live show, where fans throw three fingers in the sky for “Hiiipower.” From there, Soulo emerges from smoke, backed by an energized band.
With fans jumping along to Soulo’s bars, KRS-Two wages war on Troy Ave for his comments regarding Capital Steez and Jay Electronica for his Kendrick Lamar shots. “Raw backwards on all you rappers,” Soulo repeats.
Throughout the dark clip, light shines into the room with effects reminiscent of Korn’s classic “Freak on a Leash” video, further enhanced by the live band beside Soul.
“RAW” is the opening cut on the Black Lip Pastor’s latest album Do What Thou Wilt, which was released Friday (Dec. 9).
