It’s finally here. Post Malone’s long-delayed, highly-anticipated debut Stoney has arrived.
The project, which was first announced in July, was previously slated for release in August. However, after apologizing to his fans for the pushback, it lands today with appearances by Justin Bieber, Kehlani, Quavo, and 2 Chainz.
True to its Stoney title, the effort reflects on a time when Malone smoked weed, a habit he’s since kicked.
“When I used to smoke weed, everybody would call me Stoney Maloney,” he told iHeartRadio in October. “So I just named it in reverence of a time when I was really cool and I would blaze it up 4:20 almost every day.”
The project’s big name features and producers also add depth to White Iverson’s LP, which boasts contributions by Pharrell Williams and Metro Boomin. “I just wanted to make a body of work that was not only dope to hear, but you can hear the vibes we captured working together,” he explained.
One of those guests is Bieber, who took Malone on his “Purpose World Tour” this year. According to Malone, their bond came quickly in the lab. “He came to the studio,” Posty told Hot 97. “I said, ‘You want a beer?’ He had a beer. I had a beer. We had a chug-off, went back and forth and we just clicked.”
