After addressing J. Cole’s “False Prophets” on “Groundhog Day,” Wale returns with another banger, “Folarin Like.”

Over DJ Premier’s classic instrumental for Nas’ I Am… single “Nas Is Like,” the MMG spitter explains why he avoids industry gatherings.

“I don’t hang with ni**as much in this industry,” raps Folarin. “Been this way, ni**as be hating, wasting my energy / Then they say / Maybe Folarin is just a mental case / It’s not the case / I just confide in cases of Hennessy.”

But the track doesn’t end without a sign of things to come: “Folarin like none of these ni**as / S.H.I.N.E. comin’, man, I’m tired of every last one of these ni**as.”

This weekend, Wale and J. Cole silenced beef talks by attending a basketball game together. Fans speculated that a verse about a rapper too “worried about critics” on “False Prophets” was about Wale and Folarin seemed to agree, unleashing “Groundhog Day” the following day.

“It hit home ’cause there’s some truth,” he raps, before adding: “I love my brother though / That’s why it’s rest in peace to Tommy, we still bumpin’ Cole.”
