Kanye West has reportedly been battling paranoia and depression, which may have led to his hospitalization earlier this week.
According to TMZ, the Chicago rapper has been in “desperate shape” recently, paranoid and profoundly depressed. However, he supposedly has been dealing with these issues for some time now.
Mr. West apparently believed people were trying to hurt him, including doctors, who he refused to be touched by when he was rushed to the hospital on Monday (Nov. 21).
Initially, West was said to have been hospitalized due to dehydration and exhaustion. While that may still be true, insiders say that the paranoia has also contributed to his problems for months.
West could be heading home Monday under his personal doctor’s care. At this moment, however, it’s too early to tell if that will be possible.
The paranoia could have also impacted some of Kanye’s statements leading up to the hospitalization and subsequent “Saint Pablo World Tour” cancelation. Prior to this, he complained that Beyoncé plotted to win an MTV award over him, that Drake and DJ Khaled “set up” their success with “For Free,” and that Jay Z needed to call him.
