Jay Z wants to make history once more.
In a rare tweet, Jigga encouraged fans to support him on Nov. 4, when he performs in Cleveland, Ohio in support of Democratic candidate for President, Hillary Clinton.
“Let’s make history (again),” he wrote. “Thank you to the incredible artist dedicating their time this Friday!”
The post comes with a famous quote from author Elie Wiesel’s The Night Trilogy: Night, Dawn, the Accident.
“We must take sides,” reads the quote. “Neutrality helps the oppressor, never the victim. Silence encourages the tormentor, never the tormented. Sometimes we must interfere. When human lives are endangered, when human dignity is in jeopardy, national borders and sensitivities become irrelevant. Wherever men and women are persecuted because of their race, religion, or political views, that place must – at that moment – become the center of the universe.”
The Carter/Clinton connection isn’t too much of a shocker. Earlier this year, Hov and his wife Beyoncé hung out with Hillary’s husband, former President Bill Clinton, at the Made in America music festival.
Four years ago, Jay Z also performed at a similar show in support of President Barack Obama. That’s where he switched up his “99 Problems” lyrics to say that he’s got “99 problems, but Mitt [Romney] ain’t one.”
Perhaps Hov’s got new rhymes planned for Republican nominee Donald Trump? We’ll find out on Nov. 4.
