Chance the Rapper and Frank Ocean were among the special guests at President Barack Obama’s final state dinner on Tuesday (Oct. 18).

But Chance and Frank didn’t hit the event on their own. Each artist also brought a parent along for the experience.

For his part, Lil Chano brought his father Ken Bennett, who once worked under Obama when the President was a senator in Chicago.

“Thanks Dad for raising me right,” Chance tweeted. “Look at us all fancy for the White House. I ain’t even wearing a hat tonight #BlackBoyJoy.”

While Chance brought his dad, Ocean brought his mother Katonya Breaux along. She hit Twitter with joy of her own, saying she’s “blessed to have a son that includes me in his once in a lifetime events.”

Ocean also made quite a fashion statement, sporting checkered Vans at the formal event.

Chance and Frank were just of the famous faces at the event, which also included James Taylor, Gwen Stefani, Blake Shelton, and Jerry Seinfeld.
