“Questlove Supreme” returns with more music history.

A week after interviewing Prince’s Revolution, Questlove further explores the wonderful worlds of James Brown on the latest episode of his Pandora program, “Questlove Supreme.”

During the talk, Leeds explained how he came to befriend “The Hardest Working Man in Show Business” after a radio interview he conducted in 1965.

“For whatever reason, [James Brown] took a liking to me,” he explained. “I’ve always wondered why and I don’t mean that from a humble sense, but we stayed in touch. Every time after that, he would come through town, I would go backstage, hang out in the dressing room and we would talk music.”

Leeds would go on to work with Brown, but he wasn’t his only famous client.

“Name it,” Questlove said during the show. “Alan Leeds has been there for peak James Brown…for KISS, for Maxwell, for D’Angelo, for Chris Rock, for Raphael Saadiq, for me, for you.”

Another round of music history is coming soon. Fans can join the Quest every Wednesday at 1 p.m. EST as the legendary drummer gets more legendary stories from compelling guests.
