The Weeknd to Perform on 'SNL' Season Premiere

  /  09.22.2016

“Starboy” is coming back to “SNL.”

Just a day after unveiling his new album title and its Daft Punk-assisted title track, The Weeknd has been announced as musical guest for the season premiere of “Saturday Night Live.”

The episode, which will feature Margot Robbie as host, will air Oct. 1.

Abel, who recently cut off his trademark locks, is expected to perform his new single “Starboy” and debut another new song off his upcoming album (possibly “False Alarm?”).

The Canadian crooner is no stranger to 30 Rock. Earlier this year, he joined Future for a performance of “Low Life” on “SNL,” and last October, he brought out Nicki Minaj to perform “The Hills.” That’s not all, of course. He previously made his “SNL” debut alongside Ariana Grande in 2014.

So far, there’s no word on whether Abel will bring his own special guest to the show. Starboy, due Nov. 25, is now available for pre-order.
