Travis Scott’s long-awaited album Birds in the Trap Sing McKnight dropped yesterday featuring a star-studded cast including Kendrick Lamar, Kid Cudi, Kanye West, The Weeknd, and the elusive André 3000, who appears on “the ends.” Produced by Vinylz, WondaGurl, Dax, and OZ, the opening track off Birds contains a reflective Mr. Benjamin referencing the Atlanta Child Murders.
“Please be careful,” rhymes Dre. “I gave up on the Bible a long time ago / I hope they didn’t give up on me, I don’t know / I came up in the town / They were murdering kids / And dumped them in the creek down from where I live.”
Scott premiered the joint, along with the rest of his new album, during Friday’s episode of his .wav radio show on Beats 1.
Andre’s verse follows show-stealing bars on “Solo (Reprise)” off Frank Ocean’s Blonde. Last month, the OutKast spitter celebrated both the 10th anniversary of Idlewild and the 20th anniversary of ATLiens.
