K Camp takes fans on a ride through Lyric Ave with his new EP.
The six tracks, inspired by his time in L.A., include production from Zaytoven, Bobby Kritical, and Musik Majors, with a sole guest appearance from Slim Jxmmi on “Free Money.” “Bounce that ass for a bag,” raps one half of Rae Sremmurd. “I might fly you first class / If you show me what you do for the cash.”
Otherwise, Camp handles the project on his own, delivering the club-ready “Fuck Is Up,” the melody-driven “Touchdown,” and the Auto-Tuned flavor of “Ice Cream,” among other slappers.
King Slum spoke about the effort’s inspiration. “I have always dreamed about being able to come to L.A. and bring my whole team with me, so when I felt like it was time to change locations and catch some new vibes, that’s what I did,” he said. “I recorded the whole EP in my house on Lyric Ave. This is the evolution of me, my career, and my music. We’ve been having the craziest parties on Lyric, and this is where I’m vibin’ right now so I wanted my fans to see it, hear it and feel it.”
