Alicia Keys, Miley Cyrus, Blake Shelton, & Adam Levine Cover Aerosmith's 'Dream On'
During last night’s Season 11 opener of “The Voice,” the show’s newest coaches, Alicia Keys and Miley Cyrus, teamed up with vets Blake Shelton and Adam Levine for a jam session cover of Aerosmith’s classic “Dream On.”
Keys started the performance off behind her piano. “The past is gone,” she sang. “It went by like dusk to dawn.”
Shelton soon took over, delivering lyrics that contestants might have to learn to live by. “You got to lose,” he sang. “To know how to win.”
Levine was playing the guitar the whole time, but he also stepped in front of a mic. “You know it’s true,” he added. “All the things come back to you.”
Then, emerging from the back of the stage, Cyrus delivered the song’s stirring chorus. “Sing with me, sing for the year,” she belted. “Sing for the laughter and sing for the tear / Sing with me, just for today / Maybe tomorrow the good Lord’ll take you away.”
