The Game lives up to his name with the soundtrack to his new video game.
Just one day after announcing the “1992: Block Wars Tour,” the Compton MC releases the Block Wars companion soundtrack to his upcoming mobile gaming app of the same name. The 10-track set features Lorrine Chia and production by Bongo, Goodguydez, SAP, and Jelly Roll.
“I’m loyal to Compton and will always shed light on my city,” said Game. “With that comes the trials and tribulations of life on the streets. We tried to educate people with my documentary Streets of Compton, so they could walk away with a little more knowledge than they had before. Now, here’s another light in the form of a gaming app and some new music for your entertainment.
“That said, I’m calling out the hip-hop community to rise up, come together and use our platforms to force change and make an impact against injustice in this world,” he added. “No more just posting a hashtag or photo saying we gotta change. Our fans support us and we got to support them back. Use what you got to really help the next person. We gotta take real actions to make this a better world. These are our people and they need us. We got to give back. #YouGottaGiveAFuck #YouGottaCare.”
Game is also working on his 1992 album, which has spawned the Scott Storch-produced single “All Eyez” featuring Jeremih. You can catch him on tour starting Aug. 26 in Oakland.
