Drake's 'Views' Returns to No. 1, ScHoolboy Q Debuts at No. 2

The 6 God returns to the No. 1 spot.

With this comeback, Drake’s Views earns its 10th non-consecutive week leading the Billboard 200, thanks to 92,000 equivalent album units for the week ending July 14.

Last week, the project was edged out of the top spot for the first time by Blink-182’s California. Prior to that, Views had been No. 1 for nine consecutive weeks.

Drake’s latest offering is in elite company. It’s only the 10th album in the last two decades to have 10 weeks or more at No. 1. With this distinction, Views joins projects like the Titanic and Frozen soundtracks as well as albums by Backstreet Boys, Adele, and Taylor Swift, among others.

The milestones keep piling up for Views. Its strong popularity on streaming services and its stellar sales (it is the highest-selling album released in 2016) have allowed it to spend the most weeks at No. 1 for an album by a solo male artist since Billy Ray Cyrus’ Some Gave All, which had a 17-week run at No. 1 back in 1992.

Following Drake, ScHoolboy Q’s Blank Face LP arrives at No. 2. The TDE rapper’s latest sold 74,000 equivalent album units (52,000 in traditional album sales), debuting at No. 1 on the Top Album Sales chart. Blank Face follows the No. 1 debut of Q’s 2014 album Oxymoron.

Q spoke with Rap-Up TV about the critically-acclaimed project’s sales. “At this point in my career, numbers is not a thing to me,” he said last month. “I don’t care about a single. I don’t care about none of that. This is what it is. You like it? You don’t? I’m onto the next one anyways.”

Elsewhere on the chart, Rihanna’s ANTI holds its ground at No. 6, while Beyoncé’s LEMONADE falls to No. 7.
