MGK is celebrating the Cleveland Cavaliers’ NBA championship with new music.
On Tuesday (Jun. 21), just two days after LeBron James and the Cavs beat the Golden State Warriors in a historic Game 7, Machine Gun Kelly unleashed “Till I Die (Cavs Remix).”
“Steppin’ on the court like 2-3,” he raps, referencing LBJ. “I was made for the game like Kyrie / Representing for the city, yup, I be / In The Land is where you gon’ find me / Courtside at the Q in a floor seat.”
On Sunday, the Cavs made history as the first team to come back from being down 3-1 in an NBA Finals series. It was even more impressive because their opponent, the Golden State Warriors, had not been defeated in three consecutive games in the last two seasons. This year, the Warriors also shattered an NBA-record, by winning 73 games in a season. For the Cavs, this was also meaningful because it was the team’s first championship ever.
The “Till I Die” remix comes after “4th Coast Freestyle,” a song MGK released when the team was down 0-2. Even then, Kells was optimistic. “Lookin’ like Cavaliers at the finals,” he rapped. “I’m about to get a fuckin’ trophy.”
The original “Till I Die” is a cut off MGK’s sophomore album General Admission. Listen to its new championship-themed remix below.
