Video: Vic Mensa - 'There's Alot Going On'
Hot off the release of his 7-track EP There’s Alot Going On, Vic Mensa unleashes the video for the title track.
The self-directed clip, which he shot alongside Jake Osmun, features a shirtless Mensa in front of a black-and-white backdrop, rhyming about his struggles with drug abuse and suicidal thoughts.
“I wanted to explain to people where I’ve been for the last two-and-a-half years,” he told Paper. “[And to do that], I had to really come to terms with a lot of things in my past—things I’ve done, things been through. Just being as brutally honest with myself as I could be. It was kind of like talking to the mirror. I had to be real with myself.”
In his candid lyrics, Vic also opens up about a bidding war between Roc Nation and G.O.O.D. Music. “‘Ye and Hov getting into it over me,” he raps. “Tryna do a joint venture / And G.O.O.D. Music still fam, but it’s that Roc, boy, Savemoney life.”
No hard feelings for Yeezy, who praised Vic for this video.
