New Music: Bryan J - 'Controlla (Drake Remix)'

  /  05.05.2016

Bryan J is back at it with another cover. After taking on Rihanna’s “Kiss It Better,” the 26-year-old singer-songwriter releases his smooth remix of Drake’s “Controlla.”

Bryan adds his melodic vocals to the mellow track off Drizzy’s already-platinum album Views. Over ambient production, he delivers the touching message behind the 6 God’s cut.

“I think I’d lie for you,” sings Bryan, who has written on upcoming albums for Jason Derulo, Tinashe, and Zendaya. “I think I’d die for you / Jodeci ‘Cry for You’ / Do things when you want me to.”

“Controlla,” reproduced by Sean Myer, is a warm-up for Bryan’s upcoming EP Antayvious, a title that comes from his middle name. That effort is set to drop May 13.

Listen to Bryan take on “Controlla” below.
