Iggy Azalea Performs 'Team' on 'Tonight Show'

  /  03.23.2016

I-G-G-Y returns to late night. Fresh off the release of her new single “Team,” Iggy Azalea hit up “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday (Mar. 22) to perform the song for the first time.

Dressed in all green, she started out the performance solo before being joined by a troupe of female dancers. According to the Aussie rapper, it was also her first time singing on television.

“I was extremely nervous its my first time on tv singing,” she told a fan.

Despite nerves, she still nailed the performance. Watch Iggy kill it below.

On Wednesday, she paid a visit to “Good Morning America,” where she previewed the video for “Team” and spoke about her sophomore album Digital Distortion, due in June.

Digital Distortion is kind of touching on the social media era that we live in, this world of technology, where we can distort our own realities,” explained Iggy. “It’s a world of misinformation, good and bad, and it’s just kind of navigating that throughout the album.”

She’s faced plenty of criticism over the past year, but she deals with the negativity by focusing on the positive. “You gotta think about the people that support you as well,” she said. “I grew up loving Missy Elliott, loving Lil’ Kim, or Trina, and so I’m lucky that I had those women that I really idolized support me. So I get a little bit of confidence knowing that the people I look up to kinda appreciate what I’m doing.”

But her trials and tribulations have inspired her music. “Me having a rough year last year and taking a step away, it gave me the ability to have the space to just quietly create my little masterpiece,” she said. “I hope I don’t have the sophomore curse this time.”

Plus, she showed off her engagement ring from fiancé Nick Young and spoke about her wedding plans. “We’re trying to make our wedding cool and young and hip,” said the future Mrs. Young.
