Congratulations are in order for Ne-Yo and his wife Crystal Renay. The couple welcomed a boy named Prince Shaffer Chimere Smith, Jr. on Tuesday (March 15).
The baby, nicknamed SJ, was born at 6 pounds, 8 ounces, and 19 inches.
The new mom was forced to undergo an emergency C-section. “It was the scariest delivery ever and I ended up getting a emergency C-section cause of complications but with the help of my amazing doctor @drsherryr and my super calming husband @neyo I was able to get through it all and come out with best reward in the world,” said Renay. “#BestDayOfMyLife.”
Another photo of baby SJ was also shared by Ne-Yo’s sister Nikki Loraine.
The couple married last month in a Rancho Palos Verdes ceremony. Ne-Yo, whose real name is Shaffer Chimere Smith, has a 5-year old daughter, Madilyn Grace, and a 4-year-old son, Mason Evan, from a previous relationship with Monyetta Shaw.
But that’s not the only reason for Ne-Yo fans to celebrate. Last week, the crooner promised fans new music after his son’s birth.
“Got new music coming VERY SOON,” he tweeted. “Just gotta get my lil’ man into the world properly. 👶🏾👶🏾👶🏾!! Thanx 4 your love n’ patience❤️”
