Is Kendrick Lamar already working on his next album? After earning two No. 1s in less than a year, K-Dot is back in the lab.
XXL reports that on Sunday (Mar. 13), Top Dawg Entertainment’s co-president Dave Free posted videos from a Kendrick studio session on Snapchat. But the Compton spitter isn’t actually recording any new vocals in the clips.
In one video, Kendrick is shown counting a wad of $2 bills.
In another, he repeats the phrase: “Shine on a track like a platinum chain.”
Brocky Marciano appears in another Snap. He is reportedly an A&R who handles beats, and is also producer Cardo’s manager.
Cardo produced two songs on untitled unmastered. and has alluded to more new music coming out soon. “Just keep your eyes open,” he said on Twitter.

While fans speculate, it’s unclear whether the new clips are actually an indication of Kendrick’s next album.
In any case, it’s been a big day for Kendrick, who nabbed the No. 1 spot on the Billboard 200 with untitled unmastered. It follows To Pimp a Butterfly, which also landed at No. 1 a little less than a year ago.
