Take a trip down memory lane with French Montana. The Coke Boy does some relfecting in his new music video for “Sanctuary Pt. 2,” a single off his upcoming Max B-hosted mixtape Wave Gods.
The black-and-white clip serves as a visual diary as French is seen at award shows, interviews, and NBA games. He’s also shown with Diddy, Snoop Dogg, DJ Khaled, and Rick Ross. But another rapper actually becomes the main focus of the vid at one point: Montana’s late friend, Chinx.
“Sanctuary 2,” a soul-inspired follow-up to 2012’s Mac & Cheese 3 track, allows French to mourn over Chinx’s death. The video is also dedicated to the rapper who died last year in a drive-by shooting.
“That was my brother,” he says as the clip ends. “That was like losing my right hand. I feel like half of me died.”
French is currently readying the Friday release of Wave Gods through DJ Khaled’s We the Best Radio. He’s also gearing up to drop the long-awaited Mac & Cheese 4, which he recently spoke to Rap-Up TV about.
