Young Thug and Kanye West have a ton of music waiting in the vault.
The “Best Friend” rapper stopped by “The Angie Martinez Show” this week for a rare interview. During his visit, he revealed that he and the G.O.O.D. Music chief have recorded “like 40 songs, way more than an album.”
“Me and him, we did a lot of songs, a lot of rhythms,” said Thugger, who added that he and Kanye have been working together for three years.
It’s unclear if any of the songs will appear on West’s upcoming album Waves or if they’re being saved for a separate project. “I guess we’re just placing them, getting them together. Unfortunately, I can’t give you a date on that based on the papers I signed with him.”
Thug was joined by 300 Entertainment CEO Lyor Cohen, who added, “You have two of the most creative forces in this game today collaborating. Kanye’s a genius and he’s constantly looking for other people who are prepared, who are creative risk takers. So perfect, call Thug—speed dial.”
Young Thug will release the third installment in his Slime Season mixtape series on Feb. 5.
