More celebrities are pitching in to solve the Flint water crisis. AQUAhydrate has pledged one million bottles of water to support the people of Flint, Mich.
The company’s investors, Sean “Diddy” Combs and Mark Wahlberg, teamed up with Michigan resident Eminem and Wiz Khalifa to donate and help activate their cause. Together they have pledged to continue to deliver AQUAhydrate until the crisis is over. Combs and Wahlberg are urging more of their famous friends to join the cause.
The initial donation of 5,000 cases is expected to arrive in Flint by mid-week. AQUAhydrate is working closely with Michigan State Emergency Management and Homeland Security, Genesee County Emergency Management, the Red Cross, and local community leaders to integrate the product into ongoing water distribution and relief efforts.
“The AQUAhydrate team is doing everything it can to help with this issue,” said Diddy in a statement. “Mark and I made an initial pledge to donate and are committed to the continued aid to Flint residents as long as they need it. We hope this commitment will inspire others to get involved as well.”
They are not the only ones giving back. Big Sean donated $10,000 as part of his #HealFlintKids campaign to help families with kids who have been exposed to toxic water, and Meek Mill provided 60,000 bottles to Flint residents.
