Lil Wayne has a lot on his plate for 2016. In addition to working on his joint album with 2 Chainz, the Young Money rapper is reuniting with Juvenile and Mannie Fresh for a collaborative project.
Fresh shared the exciting news while at CES in Las Vegas. “It was a long time coming,” the producer behind the Hot Boys told AllHipHop.
The trio, who brought us hits like “I Need a Hot Girl,” “Back That Azz Up,” and “Tha Block Is Hot,” got back together by popular demand. “It was more so the fans, the fans demanded this. To them, it’s iconic,” he added. “Before it’s all said and done, it’s necessary that ya’ll go back and do this album and show the planet that whatever was going on with us, we could get over that and be brilliant businessmen as well as entrepreneurs, and put some old money on the table and watch the magic happen.”
The New Orleans rappers last shared the stage at the inaugural Lil WeezyAna Fest in August. Weezy brought the Hot Boys including Turk together to perform a medley of hits like “Bling Bling,” “Project Bitch,” and “Back That Azz Up.”
Weezy and 2 Chainz have an album of their own, ColleGrove, which is set to drop sometime this year. Last month, 2 Chainz previewed the title track during the 6th Annual Street Execs Charity Concert in Atlanta.
