In between recording his own album Swish, Kanye West links up with Sia on “Reaper.” The G.O.O.D. Music mogul co-wrote and co-produced the song, which the Australian singer-songwriter originally penned for Rihanna’s album ANTI.
Over the slapping ‘Ye production, Sia sings, “You came to take me away / So close I was to heaven’s gates, but no baby, no baby not today.”
While Rihanna rejected it, “Reaper” will now appear on Sia’s upcoming album This Is Acting, due Jan. 29. “I’m not emotionally attached to it. I thought it was a fun song,” she told Rolling Stone. “I think it’s a good, fun song, but I didn’t anticipate it being on the record. But my manager really likes it so I put it on for him.”
Sia and Kanye previously worked together on “Wolves,” which they debuted on “SNL” nearly one year ago.
This Is Acting is now available for pre-order on iTunes along with four other tracks—”Bird Set Free,” “Alive,” “One Million Bullets,” and “Cheap Thrills.” See the tracklisting below.
